cookoffSt. Peter’s Fifth Annual Chili Chowder Cookoff Contest will be held on Saturday, March 30th, from 4:30 p.m. till 6:30 p.m. at the church located at 3 Peabody Row in Londonderry. 25 teams of cooks are expected to face off for bragging rights in this fundraising event. Net proceeds will go to support St. Peters’ and Hero Pups™. Hero Pups™, based in Stratham, New Hampshire, places pups with veterans and first responders throughout New England. Their focus is on helping those who are dealing with post traumatic stress, anxiety and service-connected challenges. These dogs provide increased independence and Peace of Mind when placed with their new owners. By using shelter and rescue pups whenever possible, they are able to help relieve the symptoms while helping a rescue pup in the process.

All are invited to attend and even enter a crockpot of chili or chowder in the competition, using their favorite recipe. For a $10 donation, people will be able to sample competitors' chili or chowder, while enjoying country and western entertainment. Kids 10 and under are just $5. Attendees will also be able to vote on their favorite chili/chowder to win the people's choice award. Awards will also be given for best overall chili/chowder as determined by our celebrity judges. Plenty of fun for the kids too, with Kid’s Choice voting and treasure filled pinatas waiting to be broken. Cook registration is at 4:15 pm, dining from 4:30 to 6:00, and awards at 6 PM.
