St. Peters is hoping to attend another Habitat for Humanity Work Day on a Saturday in June, possibly June 10th at Habitat’s construction site at 262 Lowell Street in Manchester. Our last event was a very worthwhile event. This HH project, is a single family home being converted to provide housing for a veteran’s family. Anyone 16 years of age or older is encouraged to get involved with this important ministry. If you are interested and available on any Saturday in June, please let us know.

Save the date! The 2016 Greater Manchester/Londonderry Crop Hunger Walk is scheduled for Sunday afternoon, October 15th at 1 PM right here in Londonderry. There is a planning meeting at St. Peters on Thursday, May 11th at 7:30 PM. We need your support to keep this important event going, which raises funds to provide food, water, and resources that empower people in underdeveloped regions of the world. 25% of funds raised go to support the Upper Room Food Pantry in Derry. Please come to the meeting if you can. We’d like to involve more civic organizations in the walk this year (Boy Scouts, Rotary, etc) and are looking for ideas.

St. Peter’s has been supporting a Bingo game at Pleasant Valley Nursing Home in Derry on the third Sunday of the month for the last five years. We play for one hour, starting at 1:30 PM, and have a lot of fun. One of our dedicated Bingo players, Fran, is no longer able to support this ministry so we are in great need of new players. Please get involved.

It was very difficult to make the decision to cancel the 4th Annual Chili Cookoff last month but the weather was not good. We had 22 cooks lined up for this fundraiser to support St. Peters and Family Promise of Rockingham County. There has been some talk of rescheduling the event for November. If you can help plan the event, let us know. One way or another, we shall return.

Contact Lee O’Connor at 781-801-8161 (cell) or Gail Pratt if you are interested in any of these ministries.
